Mr Brown was kind, efficient and extremely caring and I left Thornbury after my operation feeling totally confident and very reassured by him and the procedures he had carried out. What a wonderful man.

Questions solved

%{Count} solved patients' doubts in Doctoralia

  • Question about Haemorrhoid surgery

can you tell me about Rubber band ligation and is it a successful operation?

Not sure if Dr Khan is right in saying categorically the THD is a better procedure. It certainly seems to have a lower recurrence rate than a single banding procedure but that is at the expense of an anaesthetic and more discomfort (albeit recovery in about 1 week). Depends how you view it. You may think the smaller procedure done as an outpatient and taking a few minutes with a possible need to return for repeat procedures is a more palatable option.

    Mr. Steven Ross Brown
