Mr Hawkyard is truly amazing, my 11 year old son went to a and e Scarborough and saw him, can't thank him enough for what he did for my son, he went beyond his call of duty and explained everything in child terms, would highly recommend, this is the man to see.
Could be improved:
Nothing what so ever.
Flexible cystoscopy post bladder op.
I have seen Mr Hawkyard once a year since 2004. He is an outstanding Clinician with a great sense of humour and compassion. He is more like your best friend than a Consultant Surgeon. I can honestly say that I genuinely look forward to seeing him each year.
Could be improved:
It is said that you cannot improve on perfection. This is absolutely true in the case of Simon Hawkyard - a true gentleman.
Mr Hawkyard is an excellent surgeon with a wonderful personality and a great sense of humour. So caring and at ease with his patients. Great at explaining the procedure, encouraging and comforting at the same time. A credit to the NHS as all doctors and consultants should be. Thank you so much.
Mr H treated me about 2001 and I have just spotted (2013) that he has only got a single review. He is very human and approachable - and a brilliant surgeon and doc. I could not have asked better.
My elderly father is in safe hands with Mr Hawkyard, who treats him with respect and good humour, never losing sight of the fact that he is an individual, which is so very important.
Simon Hawkyard is a gem... he is brilliant at putting you at ease and takes as much time as you need to fully explain procedures and answer fully any questions you may have. Before I met him several doctors and nurses commented on what a nice man he is and I have to agree. You are in very safe hands.
Can't find a fault!
Mr Hawkyard went out of his way to fully explain necessary procedures, keep in touch with concerned relatives and speak in a language that laypersons could readily relate to.
