Questions solved

  • Question about Couples Therapy

My husband doesn't want to attend therapy. What can I do to convince him otherwise?

Couple counseling is beneficial when both parties are committed to attend therapy sessions.
It is best to have individual therapy( both parties) to understand their position before moving on to couple therapy.
No one can push or convince another person to do something unless they are willing to do it themselves.

    Ms. Shanta Batacharia

  • Question about Couples Therapy

I have problems with my partner of trust and respect. It's all about alcohol. If my partner drinks, for instance, on a work day, and then has to drive, and I find out, this is followed by lies, so I don't get angry, which ends up making it much worse. What can I do?

It is a good idea to have individual therapy first in order that both parties can be more aware of their ways of dealing with the matter.
It is more helpful to have Couple therapy later.
It is helpful to identify both parties attachment style.
It gives an idea of the bonding process
