First visit child and adolescent psychiatry
My son who is 7 has had problems from being very young, no social interaction, fidgety, in a world of his own, sensory issues, behavioiral issues, inability to recognise or read others emotions etc. We have been having problems throughout nursery and in his early years at school, so much so that in year 2, I was approached by the school to be told that they didn't think he would cope in year 3 moving forward into prep school.
We went to see Dr Fry who immediately recognised the difficulties we were having and commenced treatment, firstly testing him for food intolerances. It soon became apparent that my son has a huge intolerance to dairy, this was discovered by Dr Fry and the difference in my son is absolutely astounding, so much so that he now starts year 3 and prep school in September. I cannot praise Dr Fry enough he has totally transformed my childs life. If you are considering seeing a Dr for similar issues to what we have been through I wouldnt hesitate to recommend him. The communication with Jenny his PA and Dr Fry is amazing. If you have any concerns or changes they deal with it straight away, I'm sure we will continue to see Dr Fry throughout our sons childhood.

Depression and anxiety
Excellent service from Dr Fry, he has really helped me deal with a variety of mental health problems including depression, anxiety and anger. Would strongly recommend his clinic.

Expert witness for sendist tribunal
Excellent:
My child has complex, high functioning ASD with co morbid conditions. I liked: swift appointment following request; detailed reporting (tribunal standard), analysis and opinion; prompt write up of report; willingness to travel to schools for observations. The LA reached a settlement before tribunal.
Could be improved:
Nothing. I would thoroughly recommend Dr Fry for any parent of a child with ASD/SEMH/dyspraxia etc struggling to find their way through the Special Educational Needs maze.

Social communication intervention
Excellent:
The environment was comfortable and put my child at ease. Dr Fry engaged our child in various assessments without her feeling she was being over scrutinised and she responded naturally.
Feedback from the sessions was useful and comprehensive.
Could be improved:
Sending invoices electronically.

Help with my daughter
Excellent:
My daughter had a number of severe problems and was really struggling. He has used a blended approach looking at diet, sleep, physiology and environmental factors to help her with a mix of changes and therapy and she is very much better now and much happier and more confident.
Could be improved:
Nothing really. He can help with sorts of kids and family problems ranging from exam stress to more severe anxiety related problems including the 10% or so of kids who have serious mental health problems. It takes time to see the improvements but my daughter was noticeably better after 10 weeks.

Son's anxiety and behavioural problems
Excellent:
Dr Fry's professionalism and knowledge. He was great with our 8 year old. Great advice given and a good understanding of food intolerance problems. Jenny, his secretary was also very helpful and we were totally 100% pleased with the service. Very family friendly. Would recommend to anyone.
Could be improved:
We were a bit late going in to our appointment sometimes. But nothing really can be improved. We were 100% satisfied.

Son's mood swings and depression
Excellent:
Dr Fry was the first person who listened to the problems that our son was experiencing. Both his school and cams refused to help. Dr Fry not only believed us but gave our son a future again.
Could be improved:
Nothing.

Asperger's syndrome
Excellent:
We came to Dr Fry because we were lost as how to go forward with our son's anxiety, school refusal and major meltdowns. In six months, Dr Fry gave us the help needed to get back on track. We now have a happy, settled child once again.

Adhd/aspergers assessment, sendist
Excellent:
CAHMS said my child's behavioural difficulties were due to the death of his father. As a result the LA rejected my request for an EHC plan. Dr Fry's report enabled me to win 2 SENDIST tribunals and get the support my child desperately needed in school. Thank you Dr Fry!
Could be improved:
Nothing.

Anxiety issues and dyslexia
Excellent:
Dr Fry was fantastic and put our minds at rest with his knowledge, support & treatment plans for Luke. Since seeing Dr Fry, Luke's confidence has significantly increased, his anxiety levels decreased and he now has (and uses) techniques & life skills that he has been taught. As a family we are grateful.
Could be improved:
Nothing. Jenny, his secretary has been very supportive, calm and understanding as initially this was a very difficult and worrying time for us. Thank you so much and we would highly recommend Dr Fry.

Question about Depression
I have been treated for depression and PTSD for over 2 years
I have had an interview by the well-being team and they are waiting for a group appointment for me
Can you say that this is classed as a disability or not
I find it very hard to talk to people and will not tell anyone about my problemsDepends a bit on where you are. If in the UK the relevant legislation is the Equality Act 2010. Probably best to search that online and read the guide. It is probable that you would be so classified but you would have to be assessed so that involves talking to someone about it. If you have been being treated can you talk to those people/agencies? Best of luck.

Good evening. I've been trying different medication for my mixed depressive anxiety disorder throughout the years and combining it with CBT therapy . None of the antidepressants seem to work and it's quite exhausting . I have been on sertaline, paroxetine, duloxetine and venlafaxine. Do you think I should keep trying others ?
No. I would seek a second opinion. Try a Functional (or Integrative) Medical practitioner who may look at issues in your general well being and health alongside "pure psychiatric" ones. Also consider alternative psychotherapeutic approaches other than CBT.
