Anxiety is very common, it is considered a 'disorder' when the anxiety you experience causes you distress or impairment - so it hinders or stops you from doing things.

Anxiety is felt within the body, often people experience feeling shaky, butterflies in the stomach, shortness of breath and feeling your hear beating fast or 'racing'.
In combination with your physical symptoms are the thoughts that go along side them.
People often find that they get in to a cycle of having anxious thoughts which leads to a physical reaction which leads to more anxious thoughts. This leads to an unhelpful cycle which makes the anxiety feel bad and causes distress.
Psychologists can help by helping you to break this cycle and we start by looking at your thoughts.
