I was seen within 24 hours of my retinal detachment being diagnosed. Mr Jacobs was very professional and I had every confidence in him. I was petrified of having the operation under local anaesthetic but it was not as bad I as had expected at all.

Waiting times for follow up consultations are fairly long. But I am not complaining, thanks to Mr Jacobs I can still see!!
After retinal detachment at the age of 42, I was rushed to York Hospital to see Dr Paul Jacobs; the only doctor in North Yorkshire capable of this surgery. I received expert advice from him and immediate operation with a result that my optician described as brilliant. I cannot thank him enough.
The nursing staff had a good sense of humer and the professionals were excellent at explaining any questions that were asked
