For six months my life has been seriously affected by an almost constant urge to urinate. My bladder was protruding and feeling quite uncomfortable. I was anxious about my appointment at the hospital on the 28th December but need not have worried. The Women's Investigation Unit was quiet, calm and efficient and the nursing team were kind and considerate during the waitng time until I met Dr Schaefer. I cannot praise Dr Schaefer highly enough. She explained to me exactly what she was doing as she carried out the examination and she reassured me the internal organs looked healthy. Her advice was to have a pessary fitted, a procedure which took only a few minutes. When I walked out of the hospital I felt like a new woman and a week later I feel the same. …more
