Usage of Salazopyrin

Indications: Salazopyrin Tablets, Salazopyrin EN-Tablets, Salazopyrin Suspension: Ulcerative colitis. Crohn's disease. Salazopyrin Suppositories and Salazopyrin Enema: Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's colitis of the rectum
Contra Indications:

Adverse and side effects

Nausea, headache, rash, fever, loss of appetite. Blood dyscrasias, hypersensitivity, GI, CNS and renal reactions. Oligospermia

Special precautions

Perform regular blood checks and liver and kidney function tests. Renal or hepatic impairment, allergy, glucose-6-PD deficiency, porphyria. Advise patients to report any unexplained bleeding, bruising, sore throat or malaise; perform blood test if suspect blood dyscrasia
