Total knee replacement
Excellent:
Professional and friendly manner, easy to communicate with. All details and risks of the procedure clearly explained and queries answered. Hugely impressed by his surgical expertise and exceptional attention to after care, having been seen by him on 4 of the 5 days I was in hospital. Excellent !
Could be improved:
I cannot think of any improvements. I am due to have my other knee done next year and I would not wish anyone other than Mr. Oakley to perform the operation. I have total confidence in him.

Knee replacement
Excellent:
I arrived before my appointed time but was sent straight away for an x ray. Once done I returned to the clinic by which time the x rays were in Mr Oakleys possession. I was seen by him immediately on my return. He gave me good, concise advice and explained proceedural matters and inherrent dangers.
Could be improved:
Excellent experience

I was kept fully informed at all times as to how my condition and subsequent treatment would progress. Also, I was informed as to how I could help myself effect a good recovery, with exercise and physio. I have recommended Mr. Oakley to a number of people.

Question about Knee replacement
How long after a knee replacement before I can drive?
In the end the decision that you are fit to drive is made by you. You need to be sure your ability to control a car in an emergency is not impaired.
They is evidence from simulators that it takes about 6 weeks in most patients who are doing well.

Question about Knee replacement
I had a TKR 6 weeks ago. Is it alright to take naproxin?
Yes. Assuming no medical contradictions, naproxen for a month or so would be a good idea.
Naproxen is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug(NSAID) and will reduce pain and swelling and help rehabilitation.
