Questions solved

  • Does adult mental treatment always include medicines?

Not always. It really depends on the symptoms that are being experienced. Sometimes talking is the best 'medicine' but there some very effective medicines which can be very helpful.
Sorry to sit on the fence! But, sometimes medicines will help, sometimes not. Talk to someone who can give expert advice.

  • Question about Anxiety disorder

Hi. I have been suffering from an anxiety disorder for many years which overtime has turned into depression. I have tried CBT several times but I never found it helpful in my situation. Is there any other type of therapy which could be useful? It is interacting with all areas of my life : sick leave, loss of friendships, lack of stable relationships.. Many thanks for your help.

It will probably be helpful to explore your life experiences and to think about your history of anxiety. In my experience if an issue has been ongoing for a long time it suggests the need to do some therapy which is more in-depth rather than CBT.
