Some discomfort, swelling, bruising, overcorrection, undercorrection, inadvertent paralysis of other muscles (eyelid, eye muscles). Botox usually lasts about 3 months and everything returns to normal.
Most of my patients are asking for repeat injections after about 3 months but that depends on the individual patient. If the last injection wasn't effective enough I offer top up injections after about 3 weeks.
Usually it takes up to 1 week for Botox to work. The effect then wears off and top ups are often requested after 3-6 months.
I use Botox mainly for wrinkles of the forehead, the frown lines and the crows feet. Although you can use Botox lower down in the face, fillers in my view are often better. For significant wrinkles surgery might be better.
